Napoli unveiled

Welcome to Napoli, capital of Campania, city full of folklore and thousands of contradictions, where history merges with myth, reality with superstitions, nobility with poverty, and the bustling life of the surface meets the underground world of the dead. Here, the famous "art of getting along" typical of the Neapolitan people leads to a unique interpretation of the phrase "tirare a campare" (making ends meet): it becomes urban regeneration, the fight against the camorra, social integration, and the valorization of the territory.

Itinerary

1° day

Arrival in Napoli

We recommend arriving in Naples before lunch, so after check-in, you can explore the rich cultural offer of the city.

Free evening, dinner and overnight stay.

2° day

Un’altra Scampia

In the morning a representative of the association Chi Rom e Chi No will accompany us on a tour of Scampia. You will see a lot of “sails” which became the symbol of the district, sadly known for the strong presence of organized crime and considered by most just a place of drug trafficking and corruption.

However, today, many organizations are dedicated to the social and cultural redemption of the area, fighting against stereotypes, discrimination, and the isolation of Scampia’s people.

We will have lunch at Chikù,Italy's first Italian-Balkan restaurant, which enhances the culture of the many Rom people of the district.

Free afternoon, dinner and overnight stay.

3° day

Il Rione Umanità. Departure

Breakfast and check-out.

In the morning we’ll visit the “Rione Sanità” with the cooperative La Paranza. During our visit, we’ll be able to admire the fascinating Catacombs of San Gennaro and the masterpiece Il Figlio Velato (The Veiled Child) by sculptor Jago, inspired by the famous Cristo Velato. These are the perfect examples of art, memory and urban regeneration as well as efforts to involve local youth in professional training and social integration..

Free afternoon and departure.
