"THE ROOFS OF SICILIANDO" are located in the heart of the baroque town of Modica which in the fourteenth century was a rich and prestigious county. Modica has a charming old town where nature and architecture seem to intertwine to blend.

The structure, set in a quiet and relaxing, was derived from the renovation of two buildings in the historic center that a group of stubborn and obstinate boys, in the late 90s, He set his mind to make it a place to offer hospitality and hospitality to tourists who came to know our territory.

A few steps from the cathedral of St. George and close to the main street of the city, the house still retains decorations and flooring typical of the time. In particular, in the room that was intended for noble parties you can admire a magnificent floor with ceramics of Caltagirone hand-painted.

The entire living area is enriched by a large and panoramic balcony, which allows our guests to enjoy a wonderful view of one of the oldest districts of the city.

The property has 8 rooms all very spacious, bright and panoramic. The decor is simple but cozy.  Some of them were decorated by students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Milan who wanted to leave their mark.

The tourist tax is 2,00 € per person per night to be paid locally.

The supplement for half board is € 25.00 on demand (minimum group of 6 people) and includes: an appetizer, a first course, a main course with side dish, fruit or dessert, bread, wine and water.

The supplement for a single bed in a triple or quadruple room is € 18,00.

By car:

From Catania: take the highway Catania – Siracusa – Gela, take obligatory exit Rosolini, follow indications for Ispica or Cava d’Ispica, then for Modica.

From Palermo: take the highway Palermo – Catania, then continue on the highway in direction Siracusa – Gela, take obligatory exit Rosolini, follow indications for Ispica or Cava d’Ispica, then for Modica.

In Modica head for Old Town (Modica bassa), follow the main street Corso Umberto I until you reach the Church of San Pietro, on the left of it’s stairway turn into Corso Garibaldi and go uphill until civic number 81 on your left. Park the car (usually plenty of free parking space here) and enter Via Cannata by foot. We are at number 24 half way down the stairs. 

 
By bus:

AST operates several lines from Catania, Palermo and various cities to Modica. Get off at main bus station Barycentro/Piazzale Falcone e Borsellino. Follow main street Corso Umberto I for 330 yards (300 meters) until civic number 292 on your left. Climb the stairs into Via Cannata. We are at Number 24 half way up the stairs.

 
By train:

From the train station follow indications for Center/Old Town and continue on main street Corso Umberto I for 1 mile (1.7 km) until civic number 292 on your right. Climb the stairs into Via Cannata. We are at Number 24 half way up the stairs.
